So long, farewell

My good friend Mikkel left us for the summer. They went to San Fransisco for APX alarms. We were just going to ignore her to show her how upset we were that they were leaving us but instead, we decided to to have a lunch "going away party" for them. Thanks to Melissa for supplying the backyard AND the yummy dessert! Mmm!

Brooklyn took this picture for us. She actually took a few but this was the only one that had most of our heads in the picture:)

Cute Kids!

We actually had a warm day this week, they are few and far between right now! So, we took advantage of it by putting on our spring clothes and getting outside. I got some cute pictures of the kids and wanted to post them. I sent some to Callie because she has been learning how to use Photo Shop. I think she did a great job! The first 5 are ones that she did.

Easter Egg Hunt

Since it was snowing, raining, and windy here in Cedar Easter weekend we tried to escape it and drove to St. George. It wasn't really much better but we were able to eat lunch at a park and have a little egg hunt.All the cousins with their empty buckets. Look at all those girls...and Cros!

There weren't many place to hide the eggs. Looks like we put quite a few in this area:)

Now here they are after. It was nice of them to stop and take a pic for me before digging into their candy.


I didn't get any good pictures Sunday morning with their easter baskets and new clothes. Church is at 9, need I say more? I did take some cute spring pictures of them though so I will post those next.

Vegas Trip

We went to Vegas last weekend for Jason Workmen's wedding. It was nice to get away for a weekend! We met Ian and Adrienne in St. George and drove with them the rest of the way. It was a lot of fun hanging out with them and hearing some of their stories from high school and college with Denim:) We ate at some good places, rode the roller coaster at New York New York($14 a person!!!) and did a lot of walking. Thankfully Ian and Adriennes' friends were with us most of the time and knew their way around or we would have been doing a lot more walking.

Jason and Stacy got married at the Bellagio. It was a nice wedding. I'm so glad we were able to go and see them.

Their reception was at their penthouse suite. Wow! It was nice and it had such a pretty view where you could watch the water show from the window. There was even a channel that played the music for the show.

Brooklyn had her first soccer game on Saturday. It was so exciting to see her out there. She's a natural. She knows exactly where that ball needs to go. The only sad thing was poor Ava on the sidelines begging to go in. It has been a hard year for her with Brooklyn in preschool and gymnastics and now soccer. Nothing is offered for 3 year old we are basically counting down the days, hours and minutes until she is 4:(

Look who's walking! Cros finally started taking steps a few weeks ago and he is getting better at it every day. I can't turn the video so I guess you will have to turn the computer, or your head to get the right angle. Sorry:)

Happy Birthday Denim!

Saturday we celebrated Denim's birthday. It was nice that it was on a Saturday so that Denim didn't have to work. We decided to go to the Red Cliffs and take the kids on a little hike. It was about 70 degrees, perfect! We all had a great time hiking around, playing in the water and sand, and eating lunch.

After hiking, we came home and ate one of Denim's favorite meals and had cake. We don't have any pictures because we were all dirty and in need of a shower:)

Every February my parents go to Arizona because my dad has some meetings in Tempe. That warm weather sounded so good so I invited myself and the kids along:) We got to see BriAnne, Warren and Trey. Trey was able to spend a lot of time with us. The girls love him and he is so good with them. It was 80 degrees the whole weekend. We spent all morning and some of the afternoons at the pool. The kids couldn't get enough of the pool and the hot tub.

I know that Cros looks pretty calm sitting in his floatie but that didn't last very long. He thought he could jump out into the water head first and somehow be okay. He was not afraid of getting wet or drowning. He was so excited.

Brooklyn and Ava got over some water fears. Last year Brooklyn would not jump in the pool because she didn't want to get her face wet. Now she will jump in and went all over the pool spontaneously dumping her head in the water to show off. Ava didn't even like to get in the pool last year but was all ove this year, thanks to some floaties.

Ava snatched Crosby's floatie as soon as he got out and the next thing we knew she was zonked out in the middle of the pool. Poor girl! We had some late nights and she was just worn out.




I got the girls some new swimsuits while we were there and my mom bought them some sandals. I asked them to go outside on the grass so I could take a pic of them in their new stuff and this is the pose I got. I thought it was so cute. It really tells you a lot about their different personalities.

While we were there we also got a chance to go to Casa Grande to visit my Great Grandpa Ethington. I have a lot of good memories visiting him and my grandma at their home. They had a nice big yard that we loved to play in and my grandpa always had the best bear stories. He told one to the kids while we were visiting him. It was about a bear that ate their steer that they were fattening to eat. Then they had to kill the bear and skinned it. Brooklyn's face was so funny. She kept her hands over her mouth the whole and time was saying "Oh!" Life is a little different for her:)

Crosby went right up to him and held his hand and talked to him for awhile.



He also wouldn't leave his hearing aids alone as you can tell in this picture:)



It was a fun get-a-way for us. It was kind of hard coming back to the cold weather but summer is on it's way. Right?
