Birthday Weekend

We had a really good weekend celebrating mine and Crosby's birthdays. My mom came down to be here for them and it was a good distraction for her to keep her mind off of Kellen leaving on his mission. Friday night Denim invited some of our friends over and we had dinner and cake. Then on Saturday I went out with my mom for the afternoon. We did some shopping and got our toes done. It was a lot of fun just us two. I don't think that has happened much in the past few years. That night my mom babysat for Denim and me so we could go out on a date. We went to eat at a place called Ninja. It's Japanese cuisine and sushi...yummy! Denim always has a big task on February 14th because he has to deal with Valentines and my birthday. He does so good and is so thoughtful. Thanks Denim!
On the 15th we said Happy Birthday to Crosby! I can't believe he is already 1. Time really goes by so fast. It has been such a fun year with him. He is such a happy kid! Here are a few pictures of Crosby opening his presents. Between us and my mom, he got A LOT of clothes. He needs them. He has been crawling around now for 6 months and has no desire to walk. So he has worn holes in just about everything he has. He also got some fun toys from us and grandparents and Uncle Chase gave him a a cool hat for the summer.








The highlight of the day was Cros eating his first cake. After we sang Happy Birthday to him. I set down a cupcake on his highchair. He looked at it for a few seconds and went to grab it but got some frosting in him. He quickly figured out how to grab underneath on the cake part and put it straight up to his mouth. All of the sudden getting messy wasn't so much of a problem. Well he didn't move it away from his mouth until it was basically gone. I think he thought that if he moved it we would take it away or maybe he just couldn't get enough. It was so funny. Denim was little worried he would suffocate himself!
